Apply keyword selection principles to social media

One of the most important factors in drawing search engine traffic to pages is keyword selection. It is always a good idea to be mindful of this aspect when writing blog posts, for example -- particularly when it comes to the titles. While best results can be gained after using various free keyword tools for research, you can still benefit from acting on keyword hunches.

The whole concept is also important in social media. This is because people are forever using the search functions in sites like Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin. So you should always make a point of sprinkling relevant and popular keywords throughout your writing on these sites. Do that and you will be more findable by those searching within these sites for people to connect with. And because they are also indexed by Google, you might get some views via the search giant as well.

Linkedin in particular is loved by Google. So you should really take advantage of this and insert as many traffic drawing keywords in the various sections of your profile as spossible (without keyword stuffing, of course).

Hello author it is really nice post. The designing of the site with keyword is not an easy work. They are very harder one. The post conveys the good idea. The social media should be designed carefully with the leyword, as it should be clearly explained o the user and the search engine to get traffic.

The main thing SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) staff need to remember is that the many social media platforms are a source of prospects and a place to create brand awareness, not sales. Social media platforms have been hijacked by marketers and it does not take the public long to realise this and ignore your company page or company profile once the social edge wears thin and the marketing edge starts to shine through.

Applying your key word selection principles in SM (Social Media) is extremely critical, and must be done tastefully with the thought of social interaction as the primary driver. The more social this interaction is the more likely that it will be shared and shared again.

Each social share is a plus point in SEO terms, so do not think directly about sales and marketing your brand, but about getting the shares, re-tweets, G+s and other social media approval signals.

Social Media issues are very difficult to quantify in terms of direct sales and for this reason most marketers cant link their social media efforts to their ROI (Return on Investment). Like many companies have social out reach programs sponsoring sporting events, social gatherings and school programs in place as TAX write offs, you should have online social media programs in place and work out a way to write the expenses off.

REMEMBER social media does not like marketing people and direct marketing efforts......

I can understand how people get very easily annoyed by FB users constantly saying "like my page". While it's fine to have something like that on your own website as a way to get more fans, it's a bad idea to do that on other people's FB pages. If they don't delete these posts, then you'll get little or no response from them anyway.

As you say, when using social media it's much better to forget marketing and just engage with others who share your interests.

@Matt most marketers push their brand too hard in the social arena, then wonder why they get poor ROI (Return On Investment).

Social investment is a very difficult thing to measure in terms of Cash Returns or product purchases, because it is actualy a brand awareness exercise to get your brand name in the public's vocabulary.

Just like big companies sponsor sports teams at various levels and have their banners at rugby and soccer stadiums, so smaller brands need to get their brands and products seen within the social media spaces with out being intrusive and objectionable. If marketers can achieve this they will do very well.

The way to do this is to place a link to the product / brand page within your comment, but this needs careful consideration and very high level copy writing skills so as to be unobtrusive.

Yes, getting people aware of a brand on social media is definitely a long slow process. You've really got to keep chipping away at it, and do so unobtrusively as you say.

I think a lot of people in business find this hard to comprehend, because they are fixated on immediate results and overt promotion. It definitely requires a very different approach to traditional methods.

The real trick is some thing called FUFISM which I mention in my blog, but I suggest you do an internet search for the term FUFISM so you can read what others have to say about Functional User Friendly Integrated Social Media and how to use this (FUFISM) to promote your online marketing and related pages in the SERP"s (Search Engine Results Pages)

If you won't use the right keywords, then you will not be found by your potential customers. that is why some invests a lot of money and time for keyword research alone, so if you're a business owner you should too.
