Social Media, Blogging, and Weebly Website Building Lessons in Perth
If you are new to the web and a bit daunted by the challenges presented by blogging, website building and social media I may be able to help with one or more lessons in your home or office. (Cost and contact details listed bottom of this page.)
Twitter: I've been on the site for a couple of years now using various accounts. Two of them, including this one, are in Perth's top 300 according to Twopcharts.
Twitter is an indispensable tool for bloggers. I can show you some great tips on how to use it to promote your blog posts and get them seen by many more people.
You might not be interested in blogging. You might want to use it as a stand-alone method of connecting and communicating with other people or for promoting products and services. I'm happy to give you a lesson or two on how to use the site and get the most out of it.
I'll log into one of my accounts to show you around the site. I'll cover many aspects including searching for people to follow; how to draw numerous quality (non-spammy) followers; what to look for when following people; how to get people's attention; things to avoid, etc.

I can give you one lesson (or several if need be) in front of an online computer outlining the basics of blog promotion. It shouldn't take more than 2 hrs. I do have a netbook with a wireless connection but it's preferable if we can sit in front of a desktop computer. If you have one at home or in your office I can meet you there. There are also many internet lounges in Perth that would suffice.
I can teach you -- among other things -- the basics of SEO and some very effective methods of drawing search engine traffic to your blog posts. These techniques do not include anything geeky or very involved. They are also legitimate ("white hat"). You just have to keep chipping away at them and you will definitely bring search engine visitors to your blog posts (sometimes in surprisingly high numbers) before too long.
Website Building: If you are keen to build a website but don't yet know where to start then you can't go past the free website host Weebly. This site is hosted on this platform, as are several others that I have built over the years.
It's super easy to use, has a solid blogging tool included and doesn't serve intrusive ads on your pages. Chances are Weebly will be more than sufficient for all your needs -- whether for personal or business use. But even if you decide to build a site elsewhere, it's still a great way to learn the basics and build confidence.
I can quickly teach you how to use Weebly's drag and drop website builder, as well as give you guidance about SEO aspects, blogging tactics and more.
Yola is another excellent free web host that is not unlike Weebly, though not quite as user-friendly. I can show you how to build sites with that platform too. (Unfortunately I am not a web hosting geek. So I don't do things like installing Wordpress, downloading themes, etc.)
Cost: $30 per hour (GST included, one hour minimum charge) for lessons in any of the above skills.
